Biographical note: Frank Fowler was a professor of Romance Languages at the University of Arizona. Iron artifacts discovered on Silverbell Road in Tucson, Ariz. in 1924 were variously attributed to Phoenician sailors, Spanish explorers, Mormons, Quetzacoatl, and a Roman-Jewish settlement circa 775 A.D.
